Couple of nice shells from Liberty Gap just
outside of Bell Buckle, TN. . The C.S. Read Shell had the drive
in wood plug fuse adapter and is definitely early war. The later
war production had the Copper Adapter fuse. The Hotchkiss Nose
shell was found by a good friend Jason Pilkington. These shells
are un cleaned but are disarmed. They show considerable pitting
but with proper cleaning they will be slick as the top of my
head. |

Cannon (Replica)

This cannon was built by a local man and is
fully functional. It has a 55" long steel barrel with a 1 1/2 "
or 40 mm bore. The wheel height measures 39 " tall and has a
wheel span of 48". It has the oil bucket and ram rods. This
cannon weighs around 450 pounds. It is very well made and looks
as good as any original at the price you would pay for a small
Confederate Egg Style Buckle. It is approximately 30 years old. |

ni299/ Federal Sword Belt Plate

This was a bonus for the diggers digging out a
trash and fire pit in a confederate camp near Wartrace, TN.
After digging several square nails, charred glass and a few
underwear buttons and porcelain buttons this popped out of the
side of the pit. You can see a small hole in the plate where the
silver wreath melted in the fire but still has good detail! |

This box plate has nice visual appeal to it with
a lustrous chocolate patina with nice rim and no dents or nicks.
The lead back is complete with both wire loops . After I
purchased this from the digger with a group of other relics I
noticed that one belt loop has been replaced and reattached
(BUT) it is still one nice relic from Stones River! I am selling
this at my cost. |

These three badges were found in Shelbyville, Tn.
One on the left is an Nashville, TN Centennial Exposition
(1897), the second one is a Annual Tournament picturing a
bicycle rider (probably a bike race). And the third one is an
Centennial Celebration in Nashville, TN. picturing the Tennessee
State Seal but is very worn and hard to make out. These
are a nice collection of post Civil War badges showing life
moving on after Reconstruction years in the south! |

ni296/ 1864 U.S. Infantry Belt Rig

Nice pliable leather on all accoutrement's with
moderate crazing with no tears in the leather. The belt loops on
the cartridge box and cap box are very sturdy. The maker marks
are stamped in the belt, cartridge box and cap box. They are not
very legible except for the cap box which is very clear. The
cartridge box is missing it's tin inserts. The belt plate is the
spear type attachment hooks and is a very beautiful plate. The
58 cal. bayonet is in good condition with very light pitting and
comes in a nice leather scabbard. This is a married belt rig but
they are happy together and makes a loving family that wants to
stay together for years!! |

leather strap which reads 44th session Grand Lodge - Columbus,
Ohio-June 1913. On the back of fob it reads The supreme lodge,
Knights of Pythias Insurance Department, Indianapolis, U.S.A. On
the badge it has the name Wm. F. Price. Also you have a large
lapel pin. Most all members of this organization were Civil War
vets. These items are in excellent condition and rarely seen
come up on the market. |

These are two nice South Carolina (23mm) coat
size buttons found at Stones River in Murfreesboro, TN. The one
on the left is the ~SC14~ w/ the initials S.C. on lined field a
Horstmann&Allien/NY b/m. And the button on the right is a rarer
~SC13~ with the Wm. H. Smith/NY b/m. They both are loaded with
silver guilt and has both shanks intact. They both have a small
push to the face but does not take any of the beauty from these
buttons. Great price for both of these buttons. The S.C.13 list
for $300.00 to $500.00 alone!! |

where some intense fighting took place bullets and grape shot
littered the woods with most of them getting lodged in trees.

about three inches deep with what appears to be a 58 or 69 cal.

OK, here's a rare piece found in one of
Confederate Cavalry Gen. Joe Wheelers camps near the Duck River
Lines in Shelbyville, TN. Someone may have been fooled with this
counterfeited 1857 fifty cent piece made of pewter but the the
last owner punched three holes in this one to keep it from
happening again. This was a common occurrence in the war torn
south, but very few have survived. |

This 1842 French Musket was rated by the U. S.
Ordnance department as third-class weapon-serviceable but
substandard arm. The 1842 was originally manufactured as a 69
cal. smoothbore and later board to a 70 and 71 cal. and rifled
them. Some 25,000 of these French weapons, imported
by Herman Boker & Company of New York, a large supplier of
foreign arms, were sold to the U. S. government.
This French 1842 pictured is bored to a 70 cal.
rifled musket and is in near mint
condition. Nice wood stock and all the hardware is just superb.
The barrel has its original plating and can be loaded and fired
today. This is absolutely all original and you want find a nicer
one anywhere. |

beautiful breast plate has a super nice green patina. No rim
damage or lead loss although the iron attachment loops have
decade over time. It has a small dimple above the beak where the
iron loop has deteriated. This is in excellent condition to be
dug this day and time. Dug by a friend in Alabama the legendary
Eric Wilson! |

All original 1864 Ames Cavalry Saber in good
condition the brass has attic aged patina has the original wire
and wrap on handle. The 1864 date is visible but the 4 is faint
but legible. The blade is not pitted or has any noticeable
nicks. Scabbard is in good condition with the "been there"
rattle dings bent into the scabbard. The leather washer is still
intact on the blade. |

Nice 1855 British Enfield with nice visible
rifling W/ long-range site. This one had the soldiers personal
touch added to this one. He trimmed the side stock down for chin
comfort and modified the front site for accuracy. A skilled
Southern boy was fairly accurate at 1100 yards with this 577
cal. Enfield. All metal has smooth aged patina with no
pitting. The wood stock is in good condition. All markings very
legible. |

ni228/ Virginia State Seal Sword Belt Plate
1857-1861

Here's one nice non-dug Virginia State Seal
sword belt plate. This has been blessed by Steve Mullinax (the
buckle guru). This measures 51X88 mm and is cast brass. The
tongue is brazed on and plate is bench marked 22. It has a nice
aged patina and has the initials A.D. scratched on the back. The
Keeper fits plate and patina matches but is not bench marked.
Sword belt plate displays Virginia's coat of arms. It usually
accompanied an Ames sword and an accoutrement set supplied by
Emerson Gaylord of Chicopee, Mass. There were approximately
4,000 of these plates issued. |
